To the Family of Alex,
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your family and friends. My sister,
Jean and I have known Alex for many years (20 maybe!). He was a regular at our restaurant, Velasko Pizzeria and Deli. We respected and enjoyed his visits.
He was a man of few words, but he will always be remembered as kind and
humble.
Sincerely,
Theresa and Jean

Hey Buddy, another Jarhead gone. I'll always remember the crazy times we had running with the crew of us. So many stories I could tell but I won't. I'm glad you finally found some peace in your life and got to enjoy your "Bunker" on the St. Lawrence. RIP. Semper Fi. Say hello to Chesty for me.

To know Alex was to love him. I knew him on and off the "job" his love for the job was incredible but not as much as he loved his children. Finally old friend, rest in peace.

Alex was my dear customer at Velasko Pizzeria. I looked forward to him coming in and telling me about what was going on in his life, he so loved his dog which usually was his companion in his truck! He loved his camp. Alex had a lot of anxiety and once told me he finally slept upstairs in his bedroom which was a huge feat because he said he always slept on the couch downstairs. He said he got paranoid and I’m sure he had PTSD, he made milestones every year. I’m glad I got to know Alex for so many years I’ll miss him coming in and our many chats.

My husband Harry, considered Alex a good friend. Their mothers were good friends. Harry said Alex helped him out a lot in high school, especially with Math. He often said Alex was a really smart guy. They regularly talked on the phone - especially during Harry’s last tough year. He died June 3rd of this year. My condolences to his family.

Romanenko Family,
My deepest condolences on your loss. Alex was a good cop/detective. He always maintained that military bearing of looking very sharp in uniform.
